Go to Your Happy Place (Seriously, It Works)

If you’ve seen Happy Gilmore, you probably remember the iconic moment when Happy starts spiraling, and his coach tells him to "go to his happy place."

Cue the dream sequence: waterfalls, carnival rides, grandma winning at slots, and a kiss from his dream girl. Suddenly, he’s back on the course — calm, focused, and crushing it.

Now, I’m not saying that visualizing your happy place is going to guarantee you land that big sale… or magically make your kids stop yelling at each other. But I am saying that taking a moment to mentally reset — whatever that looks like for you — can absolutely change the game.

What Is a “Happy Place,” Really?

Let’s be real: life gets loud. Stressful. Overwhelming.

When that pressure builds up, your nervous system starts sending out signals: distraction, irritability, shutdown mode. And while some people turn to traditional meditation (which is awesome if it works for you), not everyone wants to sit cross-legged with their eyes closed for 10 minutes.

Here’s the good news: your “happy place” doesn’t have to look like meditation.
It can be a memory. A song. A walk around the block. A mental image that helps you breathe deeper, think clearer, and press reset.

Think of it like those old TV tricks. Remember when the screen glitched and you just turned the TV off, counted to five, and turned it back on? Same energy.

Today’s Challenge: Name Your Happy Place

Here’s your small but powerful to-do for the day:

Take note of what your happy place is.
That spot in your brain or body where you can pause, exhale, and ground yourself — even if just for a minute.

Maybe you have more than one. Great!
Write them down somewhere. Put them in your phone notes. Stick them on your fridge. Post one at your desk.

Because when stress hits (and it will), you deserve to have that reset button ready to go.
